how loop works

How Loop works

Twice a year, we recruit some of the most talented IT students. We give you everything you need to make a real impact, with the goal of securing a permanent position with the client after your placement year.

The loop - the infinite ∞ symbol - is the core of Loop Academy: continuous learning and growth, where we maximise the potential of every developer.

Our vision is to transform newly graduated IT students into the industry's most productive talents. We do that through a 15-month program that combines intensive, in-person teaching with real placement at one of our partner companies.

Classroom, not an online course.

A physical education in central Oslo. Small classes, live teaching, real projects. You learn what school didn't have time for - and what the market actually asks for.

12 months · placement

Work with real clients.

We match you with a company that’s right for you, and the choice is yours. You’ll work alongside experienced developers on projects where you can make a real contribution.

The learning continues.

You get hired permanently by the client after the placement year. You have a network, a CV with weight, and a new career. The learning is not complete, but we make sure you are well suited for the journey ahead.

questions

What people ask.

Who can apply?+

You need to have completed a bachelor's or master's in IT or technology by the start of the program. Other than grades, we look for motivation, curiosity and the ability to collaborate.

What is the cost of participation?+

There is no cost in participating. You're employed by Loop Academy from day one, with salary through both the academy and placement. We earn our money through the partner companies.

Do I get paid during the education?+

Yes. You're a permanent employee from your first day, with regular salary, pension and insurance - throughout the full 15-month program.

Where does the teaching take place?+

The teaching takes place in person, in classrooms at Universitetsgata 2 in central Oslo. We believe in human contact, small classes and teachers who are actually in the room.

What is the duration of the program?+

15 months in total: 3 months of full-time intensive academy, followed by 12 months of placement with one of our partner companies.

Which technologies do we learn?+

Modern full-stack: typescript, react, node, cloud (AWS/Azure), DevOps practice and test-driven development. The stack is adjusted to what you, the market and our clients actually need.

How many are admitted to each class?+

We keep classes small on purpose. A cohort is typically around 8–15 handpicked candidates, so each person gets close, individual follow-up.

When is the application deadline?+

Admissions run in waves twice a year, for spring and autumn classes. We review applications on a rolling basis, so it pays to apply early.

How does admission work?+

You send an application with your resume and score card from school, take an analytical test and a problem-solving task, and meet us for an interview. We value motivation and potential heavily.

Do I get a permanent job afterwards?+

The goal is for you to be hired permanently by the client after the 12 months of placement. It's not a guarantee, but the match is worked on from day one, and the results speak for themselves.

Which certifications can I earn?+

You can earn up to three relevant certifications during the program, in areas including cloud and modern development practice.

What follow-up do I get during placement?+

You get a dedicated mentor and close professional follow-up from our team throughout the placement period - both technical and personal.

Do I need to be at the top of my class?+

Strong academic results help, but they aren't everything. We look for curious people who want to challenge themselves and learn continuously.

What if I haven't graduated yet?+

As long as you complete your bachelor's or master's by August 2026, you can apply. Get in touch if you're unsure whether you qualify.

I'm a company - how do we become a client?+

Reach out via the "For companies" page. Together we'll work out whether Loop is a fit, and match you with a candidate drilled in your tech stack.
