∞ Graduate in technology, physics or mathematics? Start your career at Kongsberg Discovery ∞

Start date: 4 January 2027

∞ What really happens beneath the surface?

At Kongsberg Discovery in Bergen, engineers build technology to understand what happens under water. The team specialises in passive underwater acoustics and develops both its own hardware and software, from sensors and electronics to microcontrollers, embedded software and the processing of acoustic data.

You are permanently employed by Loop Academy from day one, complete three months of tailored training with us in Oslo, and then start a twelve-month assignment at Kongsberg Discovery in Bergen, with the goal of a permanent position there.

∞ What will you work on?

Hydrophone systems where sensors, electronics and embedded software work together to collect and process data from the ocean. In practice: embedded software close to hardware, C and C#/.NET, microcontrollers and sensor integration, acoustic data and signal processing, Linux and low-level development, testing and debugging. The bug is not always in the code, so you work closely with specialists in electronics, physics, acoustics and signal processing.

∞ Who are we looking for?

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in, for example, cybernetics, physics, mathematics, electronics, computer engineering or computer science, completed before 4 January 2027. You don’t need to know C or embedded development already, but you need programming experience, strong academic results and good analytical problem-solving skills.

∞ Before you start in Bergen

Three months on site in Oslo, following a learning path we build together with Kongsberg Discovery. It covers C, C#/.NET, embedded, Git, TDD, debugging, Linux and communicating with hardware, among other things. The goal is that you show up far better prepared than a new graduate normally is.

∞ A team with a long history

The team has its roots in Naxys Technologies, which has built expertise in underwater acoustics since 1999. It became part of Kongsberg Discovery in 2025, and development still happens in Bergen.

∞ We take in few

Both Loop Academy and Kongsberg Discovery meet the candidates before a final decision is made.
