New graduate in AI or Machine Learning? Put your skills to work in real systems ∞

We are looking for outstanding recent graduates to start their careers with specialist training and attractive AI/ML assignments ∞

A strong academic foundation deserves a strong start to your career. At Loop, you get permanent employment from day one, three months of intensive, paid training in our specialist programme, followed by twelve months on an AI/ML client assignment.

The goal is then permanent employment with the client.

Start date: 4 January 2027

Put your skills to work in real systems

You have spent several years studying artificial intelligence, machine learning, mathematics and programming. Perhaps you have trained models, worked with large datasets or specialised in computer vision, language models or advanced algorithms.

At Loop, you build on these skills and learn how to apply them in professional development teams.

In a real product, the model needs to work with data, APIs and existing software. The code needs to be tested, understood by others and maintained. What you develop needs to be part of a solution that creates value.

This is the transition Loop Academy prepares you for.

Specialisation tailored to your assignment

For the first three months, you work full-time at Loop Academy in Oslo. Learning and development are your job, with in-person training alongside the other developers at Loop Academy.

The programme is led by Dr. Dean von Schoultz, who holds a PhD in information technology, has more than eleven years of experience as a lecturer and has guided over 200 developers through the transition from academia to professional software development. Dean is there to guide you and help you progress. He builds on your existing skills and tailors the specialist programme to your assignment, preparing you for the technologies and challenges you will encounter at the client.

For someone with a background in AI and Machine Learning, this may involve working with Python and data, backend and APIs, cloud, testing or integrating AI-based components into larger software systems. The goal is for you to start your assignment with relevant skills and a solid foundation for contributing to the team from the outset.

Together with the other developers, you share experiences, solve problems and learn from different perspectives. You get to know one another and build a professional and social community that makes the intensive learning period both rewarding and enjoyable.

From AI studies to professional development teams

Through specialist training at Loop, our developers with AI backgrounds have joined technology teams at companies including Telenor, Storebrand and Kongsberg Discovery. Several are currently in the specialist programme, preparing for exciting assignments. Steffen and Ole are two of those already working with clients.

Steffen joined Loop with a master's degree specialising in artificial intelligence. He now works in backend development at Telenor. The specialist programme gave him a better understanding of how software is built in practice:

“I had never studied Java before and had not built much software in the same way. Without the course, it would have taken me much longer to become productive here.”

Ole had a master's degree in computer science specialising in machine learning and experience with areas including RAG, semantic search and programming before he started. He now works at Kongsberg Discovery.

He highlights something that proved valuable during the transition:

“It is the scale of what you do not get exposed to at university that I found very useful.”

Both arrived with a strong academic foundation. At Loop, they built on it and made the transition into professional development teams.

AI/ML as an academic foundation

We are looking for people who have specialised in AI or Machine Learning during their studies. You have worked with models, algorithms and data, and have an academic foundation you want to apply in professional software systems.

You may come from different technical educational backgrounds, but relevant specialisation in AI, Machine Learning or a similar area is essential. You also code well, have strong analytical skills and want to understand how models fit into larger solutions.

Who are we looking for?

You are a recent or soon-to-be graduate with a relevant master's degree or a strong technical bachelor's background. You have strong academic results, code well, can get to grips with complex problems and are ready to start on 4 January 2027.

We are looking for someone who is curious about technology and motivated to understand more than the model itself. You learn quickly, work thoroughly and want to use your AI/ML skills as part of professional software development.

You communicate well, share knowledge and enjoy solving problems with others. Professional strength and the ability to contribute to a team are equally important aspects of the profile we are looking for.

We take on a small number of candidates and invest heavily in those we select.

Permanent employment from day one, a fixed salary and targeted specialisation. At Loop, you get a path to exciting AI/ML assignments with attractive clients, with the goal of permanent employment with the client after your assignment.

Ready to put your AI/ML skills to work in real systems? We would love to hear from you!
